Making Plugins Work
The question, "Will Adobe Plugins to work in PhotoImpact?", comes up time after time. The answer is Yes! Most (not all) Adobe and other third party filters will work in PhotoImpact but you have to do a few things to make this happen.

PLUGIN.DLL

You will need Adobe's plugin.dll file that comes with Adobe PhotoShop (before version 6). Since it belongs to Adobe, we cannot offer it for download but if you have an older version of any Adobe product, you will find it there. The plugin.dll in the newer versions of Adobe programs will not work. It must have one of the dates shown below.

Place the plugin.dll file in your main PhotoIpmact folder (or in your Windows system folder). Plugin.dll files dated 7/6/98 and 6/30/99 both work. Make sure you keep a backup copy in the event that you have to reinstall.

MSVCRT10.DLL

You will need a copy of msvcrt10.dll. You can download this file from the PIRC download area. Put the msvcrt10.dll in your Windows\System32 folder.

Now you should be able to load in those Adobe type filters!
