This is a little guideline to show you how to change your nameserver names when you purchase your domain name at at GoDaddy.com. When you get webspace at Spiralhost, they send you an email telling you what you need to put in the nameservers area and this will show you how to do it.

1. Go to http://godaddy.com and log into your account.

2. Click on the green Domains button. It will give you a dropdown menu

3. Select My Domains from the menu page.
   

4. You will see your domain listed.
   

   Click on your domain name. You will get a new page. On this page, you can change various things about your account. Look for the section that says Name Servers: This is the information you need to change. Spiralhost sent you two nameserver names. You need to replace what's there with the spiralhost information.

5. If your domain shows that it locked, you will have to unlock it. Just click on the Change link and unlock it. It is locked to prevent someone else from changing it. You will receive an email that it was unlocked (a security measure.).
   

6. You should still be able to see the Nameservers on the screen. Once you get the email that your domain has been unlocked (it's almost instant), click on Nameservers and you'll get a window with a bunch of boxes.
   

   Copy and past the first nameserver you received from spiralhost in the first box (past over the name that's there) and do the same for the second name. You should only see your spiralhost nameservers now. Click the OK button.

7. Now go back and lock your nameserver by clicking on the same link as you did to unlock it.

That's it! you can exit Godaddy. What you just did was give Godaddy the address of the server where you will have your web page. GoDaddy will broadcast that information to all the hubs on the net. This can take up to three days to complete. In the meantime, you can start setting up your site at Spiralhost and your email address too.
